Resource Centre

Week 6

I love it when students come to the Resource Centre to ask if their class can send down some of their work to go on display. We’ve had dioramas, books on recipes, shape poems and animal studies. Our current display comes from students celebrating their work in French with Mrs Williams: Year 1/2, Year 2 and Year 3.

Jacques Cousteau, a famous maritime explorer, features in the children’s pages which linked beautifully with the Science Week display we’ve had on a blue wall of oceanic pictures.

If you spend a few minutes looking at the French presentation you find something else too. Several children have written lovely accounts of their French-speaking pen pal, Ramata. I learned that she is 8 years old and lives in a poor West African country. Our children pray for Ramata and her grandma (La Grandmere). Thank you to our young French students for sharing in this way.

Lunchtime activities continue with much enthusiasm. This week I’d like to congratulate Harlen for making such progress with weaving. Last week he took home his first potholder and then made a little mat on a peg loom.

Well done, Harlen, and well done to others who are on new projects and those who readily help those around them.
