Book Week:
Curious Creatures, Wild Minds
Book Week:
Curious Creatures, Wild Minds
I am so happy that all the students will be back at school next Monday!
I'm also very pleased to announce that we are now allowed to re-open our Library and children may borrow books again! So, find the Library bags and bring them next week ready to borrow some books to take home and enjoy.
The Children's Book Council of Victoria has moved Book Week to this term and we will celebrate Book Week on Monday 19th October with our annual dress-up day.
The theme this year is Curious Creatures, Wild Minds. Children are invited to come to school dressed in a costume related to the theme or as a favourite character from a book.
So start thinking about costumes! If your child's costume is not suitable to wear all day please send along a change of clothes.
Unfortunately, we are not permitted to conduct whole school assemblies yet so we won't be able to have a parade but we will all get to see each other's costumes at morning recess and lunchtime.
Also during Book Week, the children will have two authors visiting our school via Google Meets.
Years Prep to Two will meet Lucinda Gifford, author of Whitney and Brittney the Chicken Divas.
Our Year 3 -6 children will have sessions with Tristan Bancks.
Both authors are very excited to be able to work with our students even though it will have to be online.
Happy reading everyone!
