MC Class Explores

 Natural Disasters

Building, painting and erupting volcanoes

The MC class explored the natural processes of volcanoes, under their unit of work on natural disasters. The class explored this unit of work with a practical exercise, which included constructing the volcano out of paper mache, painting the volcano and then making the volcano erupt using red food colouring, bicarb of soda and vinegar. The results were pretty amazing.

The students worked together in small teams, learning varied skills such as co-operation, communication and delegation of jobs. Many students discovered that they really enjoyed certain aspects of the exercise, such as the paper mache construction, painting and doing the science component of the exercise.

Thanks to Miss Love for this great lesson.
