MANDARIN - Mr Yang

In term 2, the middle and senior level students engaged in more classroom functional languages in Chinese so that they could use Chinese in their daily learning. We have learned how to ask permission in the classrooms and also identified more everyday stationary objects as well as common pieces of furniture in a classroom.

We used different games and activities to enhance our memorization of the words. And as the old saying goes, practice makes perfect, the more we use Chinese in our daily lives the better we master it.

The students in the Junior level are learning more basic vocabulary in Chinese. We played games using Chinese numbers and learned a few new songs too! The picture shows some of the activities we have been doing in the classroom.

Our Chinese Leader team has also been working diligently every week to improve our language learning. The year 6 leaders are standing at the school gate in the morning to greet all students and parents coming into the school with a lovely “Good morning(zao shang hao)” in Chinese. The team has also produced a few video clips to help both students and the staff to learn the everyday use of language in our school.

谢谢(xie xie)!
