RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Last Friday we celebrated The Feast of the Sacred Heart beginning with a celebratory Mass led by Fr Michael. This was the Mass we dedicate to those in need. The Year 6JR  class guided us beautifully through the order of Mass including, bringing forth some donations collected for those in need. Julie Foley from St Vinnies was encouraging with her kind words of appreciation for the Sacred Heart school community by the way of the donations we have so far received. For the rest of this week, up to, and including Monday 21st June, we will continue to encourage families to donate food and items to help those in need.

We know that the heart of Jesus is so full of love and that through His actions he showed us how to help those in need. We will be thinking of those who are finding life tough and hope through our donations and actions we can bring them some comfort. Each grade has specific items to bring but you may also bring an item from another grade as well as a money donation. These are what the grades are asked to donate:

These are what the grades are asked to donate:

After all the donations are made the Grade 6’s will create the “Comfort Packs” using all the donations and with the money will buy more items to put into the packs.

Sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist

Last week the Parish Sacramental team met to discuss and organise the Sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist planned for next term. If you have a child in Year 3, or if your child unfortunately missed out on making this sacrament last year, please be alerted to information that will follow next week. The parish will be forwarding to us, an outline of dates and events to ensure your child/children in Years 3 and 4 have every opportunity to receive the

Sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist.
