KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY SAFE ON THE ROADS
The safety of our community is always a priority at Murrumbeena Primary School.
Parents are reminded that there are strict parking restrictions around our school and these will be enforced by Glen Eira Council.
To help reduce the congestion around our school, we encourage parents to walk to and from school with their children or to park a little further away.
Hobart Road and side streets, such as Brisbane Street, is a highly congested traffic area, especially at the start and end of each school day. It is vital that you follow all of the road and traffic rules that are in place for everyone’s safety.
Last Friday we had another near miss when a parent almost hit a child because the parent driving was not able to see a mother and young child start to cross at the Brisbane St and Hobart Rd corner due to cars illegally parked in the No Standing Zones blocking that line of sight.
It is imperative that parents:
- park legally
- park so that their car does not stick out into the street and block the flow of traffic,
- pull out from the curb correctly and with due caution to cars driving past
- stick to the 2-minute drop off rule,
- have children exit the car on the footpath side of the road (not directly onto the road)
- always use the crossing.
Please be careful and cautious during all school drop offs and pick-ups, as we do not want any of our children injured.
LUNCHTIME CLUBS
Many thanks to our teachers who are running clubs at lunchtimes for students to attend. Students are welcome to join in the lunchtime clubs. Clubs are a great way to make new friends, learn something new or participate in something they love.
Check out the Dojo page to see what is happening in clubs around the school.
