Junior School News

We have had a busy few weeks here in the Junior School. Students have been participating in early morning aerobic training and weekend competitions, interschool sport team have been competing against other schools, lunchtime activities with Kingston Council, NAPLAN for year 7s, attending an incursion from Brainstorm Production and the year 7s have been practicing for their Fancy Dress competition. A full report on the competition will be in the next newsletter.

Brainstorm Production - ‘Cyberia’

Last week Year 7s watched a mini theatre production called ‘Cyberia.’ It explored online safety, cyber bullying, resilience and mental health. Developed in consultation with education and mental health experts, Cyberia uses real student experiences and a compelling narrative to raise important questions about our online behaviour. It provides students with practical tools to help them stay safe, connected and resilient in the face of challenges. Students had opportunity to ask questions and the end of the show, and they will complete follow up activities during their PL classes.

The year 8 students will see a different Brainstorm Production ‘The Flipside’ in week 7.

Uniform Reminders

Well done to all Junior School students who have been wearing the correct uniform with pride during this transition stage where either summer or winter uniform can be worn. Please remember that if you are wearing your summer uniform, blue socks must be worn. Navy tights are only worn with the Winter uniform. Students should not be wearing long sleeve tops under their school uniform if it is visible. These must be covered with a rugby jumper for PE or their school jumper with their uniform.
