Years 2/3 Excursion to Maroondah Dam Park

The Year 2/3's have had a great start to term 2 with lots of great activities and learning taking place.  We joined with the F/1's and traveled by bus up to Maroondah Dam Park to take part in the Upper Yarra Sports District's 'Photo Trail' and 'tabloid sports'.

"We had to listen to a man on how to use the map" Sam

"We used a map to know where the clues were." Isabella

"Activities like tug-a-war, throw rubber chickens and cat chases the mouse" Amelia

"There was a game called caterpillar and we kept falling over and it was funny" Sophie B

"We went to the dam.  It had a great view."  Ollie

We had a visit from Jay and Rachel from Lilydale Police to talk to us about Cybersafety.

" Cybersafety is so we don't get hurt online"  Matthew

"Two police officers came to teach us to be safe on the internet" Darcy

"They told us that it wasn't safe to be online without telling parents" Dylan

"... taught us to only play games with people we know" James

"If someone told you to meet them at the park you do not go there" Ryan

Our whole school enjoyed a performance from the Killesta College band.  

Last Friday, May 14 we had a visit and performance by the girls from Killesta College Band.

"It was very loud and I really enjoy it.  It was cool how they played a song about how a dog moves.  I like guessing all the instruments and I like the singing." Harper

"It was very cool because they were really good singers and performers.  Henry

"I got picked to stand up and shake a maraca with one of the tunes and I liked the Mexican hat I had to wear." Indianna

"The music was very good and it was very cool when Darth Vader came and when some kids got to do instruments in the Mexican song.
