Good news - Dobson's 'buy early' pricing still applies to new uniform purchases. Uniform is available for order via the Dobson's website, at their Hawthorn store or at the onsite shop, which is running extended opening hours in the back to school period.

Extended hours

Monday January 29:  10am - 2pm

Tuesday January 30:  10am - 2pm

Wednesday January 31:  8.30am - 11.30am

Thursday February 1:  8.30am - 11.30am

Friday February 2:  8.30am - 11.30am

Normal trading hours resume Tuesday 6 February

Tuesdays 12.30pm - 4pm

Fridays 8.30am - 11.30am

Wearing the school uniform is an important part of signalling belonging to and pride in the Northcote High School community, as well as readiness to engage in and uphold the school's expectations. The uniform makes our students identifiable and represents the school in the local community. All students are expected to wearing complete and correct uniform each day. If, due to an unavoidable emergency, your child is out of uniform, please provide them with a note explaining the circumstances: they will need to obtain a uniform pass from their sub-school office at the start of the day.

Attached is the uniform 'Need to Know' information for all students.  

What's in?

• Summer uniform for Term 1
• Black leather school shoes
• Black business socks (above ankle length, no logos)
• Sports uniform to change into on relevant days
• The school hat or cap for recess, lunchtimes and outdoor sport
• Dresses 5 cm above the knee (hems may need to come down if you've had a growth spurt!)

What's out?

• Non-uniform items including hoodies / sweatshirts
• Visible T-shirts
• Runners or skate shoes
• Ripped or torn items
• White or grey socks

A reminder that following feedback from the 2017 uniform review, in 2018 these changes apply:

• All students should wear black business socks (no visible logos) with both summer and winter uniform (or black stockings with the winter skirt)
• Students may wear either the long sleeved white blouse or the purple long / short sleeved shirt with the winter skirt during Terms 2 & 3

All students may wear the purple shirt and grey shorts or pants year round. The school is continuing to investigate the possibility of providing alternative cuts of these shorts and pants during 2018 - stayed tuned in Term 1 for a further update.
