The Plans for our New HALL!!!!

Last week we had the great news from the quantity surveyors and MACS that our preferred plan is within the budget of $4 Million. We are really excited with the layout and with achieving all the areas we were hoping for. The architects are now working on the elevation plans to present back to us. Our new hall is taking shape and before we know it we should be ready to get our permit and move to tender. The dream is taking shape!

This is the hall on our site, placed in position according to our master plan. The existing portable will be removed and the land used for extra parking space. There maybe an option of having a drive in and drive out gate. This is not essential, but if the budget permits, it may be added. Our focus is to get the maximum value in the building and other items  like chairs and additional parking spaces can be added later, so we keep to our budget.

Let me know your thoughts and ideas about our plans. We cannot add any more to the building size but can tweak the internal design. If you have any ideas, please email me by next week. principal@sfslynbrook.catholic.edu.au

Foundation 2022 - Sibling Interviews Commence!

It is already that time of year once again! We commence our interviews with foundation children who already have a sibling at SFS next week.

If you are an existing parent with a child to commence school in 2022, please hand in your enrolment form now.

We are very excited to meet the Foundation students of 2022!!

Places will be confirmed for siblings by June. Then we commence interviews and place offers for new families to our school. Please remind friends and neighbours to organise a tour now and get their enrolment in quickly, to avoid disappointment.

We like to Move it, Move it!

This week we had Specialist Day and we sure did like to move it, move it!

We had an incursion as part of the day with Kaboom! The activities all had an Olympic theme as we gear up for the Olympics hopefully in July 2021.

The day commenced with a walk to school and followed on with activities in the learning spaces from dance moves to the Olympic theme from past Olympics, making friendship bands, discovering more about the spirit and meaning of the games and the symbols. Then it was time to MOVE IT!

The rain held off and we were soon in our teams ready for the parade...a sprint with our country flag. It was fun watching Patrick, Maddison and Rosie share their dance moves for everyone to copy. Our bodies were soon warm and we were ready to discover the many activities. Laid out were such a great variety of things to do!! Everyone from Foundation to 6 and even teachers enjoyed taking part. There were gold medals for all kinds of things. We had a great day.

We came in to enjoy a lovely pizza FUN lunch. Thanks to our P&F for organising this for us and for serving our pizzas nice and warm. They were delicious.

The day concluded with an assembly and it was great to have some Prep parents join us. Our first assembly for ages, with parents. We hope that Year 1 parents can join us next time, as all Year levels get a turn. The choir performed and we had some great reflections, photos and even a rap, of the fun day we all enjoyed.

Big thanks to Rachel, Silvana, Louise, Kristy, Lulli and Logan our amazing specialist team, for organising a great specialist 2021 day. Thanks also to staff who helped out and to our parents who came to volunteer as well. A great team effort.
