Interview with Dan Farmer

Interview - Mr Dan Farmer 4A

How Long Have You Worked At BNPS?

It’s my third year teaching, with stints as an integration aide, which I began in 2017.

Who inspires you?

My Grandparents are the people that inspire me, best people I know and have always set the example for the rest of the family.

What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends?

Watch, play and talk about footy with my mates.

If you weren’t a Teacher what do you think you might be doing?

Probably an Astronaut, Prime Minister or an Olympic Gymnast.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Night owl, I am a big slug in the mornings. Takes me a good 30-45 minutes for my eyes to start working.

What might someone be surprised to know about you ?

I am a world class singer, just ask my students about how good I am. Very Michael Buble esque.

What’s something you saw recently that made you smile?

St Kilda getting destroyed by 111 points, thought that was unreal.

If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose ?

I would trade places with the world’s best sumo wrestler. It would be great being able to eat what I want and be a rich celebrity who wrestles in front of huge crowds.

What would you like to say to your class?

I would like to say that I am really enjoying working with them as they are a great group of kids with a lot of energy, who get on so well with one another. Also, the next person who starts a story/sentence without a capital letter is going to have to run 20 laps of the basketball court.

Mr Farmer played his 100th game on Saturday for Dingley Football Club.

He was recruited by Collingwood with their second pick (#46) in the AFL 2010 National Draft.

Daniel was hampered by several injuries and headed to Dingley after 3 years. He has won several awards since and has been pivotal in the Dingoes winning 3 premierships since!

Our Facilities Manager Mr Lee Skaftouros takes some blame for Mr Farmers inaccuracy on Saturday. “I used to take Dan and my son Michael to watch the inaccurate Matthew Richardson play for Richmond from the age of about 4. Looks like it’s rubbed off. On Saturday Dan kicked 9 goals 8 behinds!”
