The Tokyo Olympics has been a great conversation topic at school over the past two weeks and the children at St Edward's were very excited to learn that Nick Kay is an ex-St Edward's student!
Nick, now representing Australia in the Men's Basketball Team, was a student at Eddies from 1998 to 2004. To show our support for the former student, Year 6 sent their best wishes and good luck messages via a podcast and video. Well done to all of Year 6, but especially to Mia Muzyczka and Haydon Allan-Saunders for editing together the podcast, and to Eva Hudson, Riley Miller, Alyssa White, Abigail Smith and Charlie Benjamin for putting the video together. Please listen and watch their work below:
A big thanks to Mrs Lockwood who also organised a Zoom call with Terrie Kay, Nick's mum. Terrie was very generous with her time and answered lots of questions from the Year 6 students about Nick, his time at St Ed's, and his career as a professional basketball player.
Year 2 have been using different strategies to solve some tricky multiplication problems in class this week. Here they are proudly representing their multiplication problems using equal groups, number lines, repeated addition and arrays.
Kaleb and Kiarnee are having a fantastic time with their journal writing in 3K. They have written some very entertaining short stories about 'Mushy' the mushroom!
