Each Tuesday for the next 4 weeks, students from Year 2 to Year 6 will be participating in the Peer Support program. Peer Support is a program, which provides a fun engaging environment for young people to address social issues. Two trained Year 6 leaders, supervised by a teacher, facilitate structured activities with multi-aged groups (Year 2-5) of approximately 10 students. This week students will share things they enjoy in life and have an opportunity to discuss their favourite activity. The session enables children to recognise what makes them happy. Next week, children will identify their strengths and explore curiosity, kindness and teamwork. Through the activities, children will be able to recognise which strengths they possess and realise how important it is to use their strengths in different situations. We encourage families to talk to your children about Peer Support each week to reinforce the concepts learned in each session.
A reminder that school finishes at 3:20pm. All parents need to wait outside the school gates due to Covid-19 restrictions. It is fine to wait at the front of the school if you are collecting children. Students are supervised at waiting tree and bus lines until 3:45pm. If you are running late to collect your child, can you please contact the office. A number of the children are becoming confused as to whether they should be on the bus or are being collected at the ‘Waiting Tree/Kiss and Drop Zone’. It would be helpful if you could send a note with your child if this changes day-to-day so as they can check where the correct place is if they get confused.
Students should be in full school winter uniform. If you have any issues with this or your child is out of uniform for a particular reason, could you please send in a note to their classroom teacher or speak to Mrs Dal Santo. This includes ties. All students must wear black leather/vinyl shoes. Joggers are suitable for sports day.
Children are spending more time online. When talking with your kids about their time online, try always to be positive and be open. Put healthy boundaries in place immediately. Here are a just few tips:
