Sports Equipment

Congratulations to all year levels for a great start at taking responsibility for their classroom sports equipment. It has been wonderful watching students taking great pride when returning equipment to their sports tubs or assisting other classes when equipment has been found around the school. Keep up the awesome work!

The Amazing New Oval

How lucky are the students at Miners Rest! The new oval has been a huge hit for both students and staff! We are pretty sure most, if not all of our wonderful parents are enjoying the lack of mud on children's clothing during these freezing, messy months. We have had some very wet weather last week, however we were fortunate to able to utilise the oval during PE classes, recess and lunchtimes making the most of the grand space and unique synthetic surface. It is such an exciting term in PE with our new stadium looking just about ready to go also. This will make life so much easier when playing games on days when it is raining and miserable outside. We simply cannot wait to show it off to you all!

Greater Western Region Cross Country

Congratulations to Remmy, Chloe, Archer, Archie, Naomi, Cooper, Ruby and Airlie who all proudly represented Miners Rest Primary School at the Greater Western Cross Country Championships in Warrnambool last Thursday. From all reports it sounded like a true cross country course – hilly, muddy and wet. It was wonderful to see so many of our students representing our school at such a high level. A special well done to Remmy who has qualified for the School Sports Victoria State Championships. We wish Remmy the best of luck for this event.

Winter Sport

Unfortunately, we are not having much luck with our Yr 5/6 Winter Sports Competition. It has once again been cancelled due to Covid restrictions and will hopefully be rescheduled very soon.
