COVID-19 Update

The latest COVID restrictions

As communicated via Skoolbag last week, we have been provided with an update to the settings on interschool sport and other interschool activities shared in the School Operations Guide yesterday.  There have been a few other changes. Here is a quick reference guide. This changes constantly. I will continue to keep you well informed.

Interschool sport

Indoor and outdoor interschool sport are now permitted, but are limited to the minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity. They are also subject to venue capacity limits, including a density limit of one person per four square metres applying to any spaces being used. Record keeping obligations must be adhered to by staff and students visiting from other schools.

Interschool sport held off school sites (e.g. at a physical recreation facility) must be conducted in line with any specific indoor and outdoor capacity limits (100 people per indoor space and 300 per discrete outdoor space), in addition to the density quotient of one person per four square metres and any other obligations on venues including use of Service Victoria QR codes.

Spectators are not allowed (excluding people necessary for events such as teachers and supervising staff).

Camps

Camps, playgrounds, pools and other school facilities and activities School camps and overnight stays can take place across Victoria with no travel restrictions. Bookings must be limited to single schools. Multiple schools can attend camps providing school groups remain separated and do not share common facilities at the same time. Mixing of staff and students between different schools is not permitted. Testing requirements are now in place for the Victorian ski fields (see ‘Intrastate and interstate travel’). Parental consent and excursion attendance for contact tracing forms is now a requirement for all schools going on camp. This applies to us. All Year 5/6 parents will receive information shortly regarding camp permission and contact tracing permission via Operoo. Our students were very excited this morning that their camp could still go ahead.

Swimming has been rescheduled to week 9 and 10 this term and is permitted.

School tours  should not be conducted on-site for prospective students and their families at this time.

Prep Interviews are not permitted at this time. I will be in contact with all families who have interview scheduled about having this when restrictions ease or via ZOOM.

Incursions  are not permitted at this time.

Excursions  are permitted with students from a single school only. Our planned trips to Queenscliff have been cancelled because they involved travel on the ferry and this was not permitted.

Non-essential meetings, and all school events, gatherings and assemblies should be deferred or held remotely - you will be able to view Assembly tomorrow virtually. We have prepared another virtual assembly for you all.

Liturgies - Sacraments that are scheduled for the next couple of weeks are allowed with a limit of 100 in the Church. We are going ahead with Reconciliation tonight at 7pm and we have scheduled Eucharist Masses for the next 2 Sundays.

I will continue to keep you informed as changes occur. Please continue to do the good job you are all doing at drop off and pick up. We appreciate you wearing your masks and ensuring minimal contact inside school.
