Home Reading

On Monday, the Home Reading Program for the 1/2 Level commenced. This is a fabulous opportunity to assist your child with their reading progress at home. A note went home last Friday detailing the program and what assistance you can provide for your child with their text. Your child's class teacher will check the Reading Log book each day to ensure that nightly reading is taking place.

Students in Years 3-6, will record their nightly reading in their diaries (which will soon be supplied) and checked by their classroom teachers. The texts that the Years 3-6 students will take home will be from the school library, which they can borrow in their weekly Library session. We encourage them to select a variety of both fiction and non-fiction texts.

More information will be provided on how you can support your child at home with the Home Reading Program at the PTC Chats on Wednesday.

We are calling for any parents who may be available to assist in the classroom during the morning Literacy Block. For those of you who are available to assist in the classroom, it would be very appreciated! We are running a Parent Helpers Session which you will need to attend if you are able to assist us.
