Slime Spectacular

We are very much looking forward to our "Slime Spectacular" taking place next Friday on March 10th. This event will be a highlight of the year and we can't wait for our students to experience the fun and excitement. There are already high levels of anticipation around the school!

During the “Slime Spectacular” students will run or walk a designated course while being covered in slime! It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to get some exercise while having fun with their classmates, raise money for our school and help the environment.

Please make sure your child wears appropriate clothing and shoes for the event, as they will get messy! We also encourage parents to come and support their child during the event and cheer them on as they make their way around the course. A timetable will be sent home so you know the time your child will be running!

Please remember to return your permission note and register online by Monday 6th March. Without these students will not be able to participate.

The "Slime Spectacular" is a fundraiser event, and all proceeds will go towards our amazing P&C. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you there while the kids have the slime of their lives!

Slime-ing the Principals was a hugh sucess last Friday.

Parking

We would like to remind you that the staff car park near PCYC is reserved for school employees only. We kindly ask that you do not use this parking lot when dropping off or picking up your children at school or PCYC.

The staff car park is necessary for the safety of our employees and to ensure that they have access to the parking they need to perform their jobs effectively. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and efficient parking situation at our school.

There are many alternative parking options for parents, such as nearby carpark near the tennis courts or on-street parking.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

2023 NAPLAN

This year the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests will be conducted in schools across Australia from 15th – 27th March. NAPLAN is a nationwide assessment that evaluates the skills of students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 in the areas of literacy and numeracy.

NAPLAN tests are designed to assess student skills and identify areas where they may need additional support or resources. The results of the tests will help teachers to tailor their teaching programs and identify areas where students may need extra support.

It is important to note that NAPLAN is not a pass or fail test. The results are used to provide feedback on individual student progress and to help schools and teachers improve their teaching practices. The tests are also used to provide a national snapshot of literacy and numeracy skills across Australia.

Students are not expected to study for NAPLAN. You can support your child by reassuring them that NAPLAN is a part of the school program and reminding them to simply do their best. Familiarisation and explanation of NAPLAN is occurring at school to help students understand and be comfortable with the format of the tests. Teachers have ensured students are familiar with the types of questions in the tests and will provide appropriate support and guidance.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent/Teacher/Student interviews have been scheduled for Monday 20th of March from 3:00pm – 7:00pm in the PAC (Performing Arts Centre - Townson Avenue). We will be using the School Online Booking System (SOBS) to make appointments.

The booking system will be accessible early next week. Your classroom teacher will communicate more information.   To secure an appointment time, you will need to book using this system.  If you do not have access to the internet, your local library may be able to help. Alternatively, you can access the website from your phone.

You can only book one 10-minute slot with your child’s class teacher. If your child’s teacher booking availability is full for this night, please contact them directly for an alternative time.

We encourage your child to accompany you to the interview as this often assists with the discussion and clarification of outcomes. We look forward to seeing you at the interviews.
