Learning Technologies in Fisher

Internet Safety

This term students in Fisher will look at Online Safety and protective practices for keeping themselves and others safe online.

Students will cover many aspects of online safety including... cyber bullying, offensive content, online games, social networks and text messaging.

We will use the following website with our classes: http://www.cybersmart.gov.au/ to discuss the different topics.

On 5th November at 6:30pm - there will be a staff/parent presentation from ThinkUKnow to discuss the dangers and protective practices to help keep children safe online at home and at school. There will be a creche available that evening for children

Bring Your Own Device 2015

On Open Night, Thursday 13th November, we will have a representative from Learning With Technologies (LWT) set up in the Fisher building to share examples of the devices we will be offering for BYOD in 2015.

We will have a Parent Portal attached to our school website that parents can buy direct from LWT.

Devices have been selected to be the most suitable for our educational vision and while it is not compulsory to purchase through LWT, they do provide a 24-month Interest Free option. Devices which have been BYOD during 2014, will continue to be accepted in Fisher classrooms in 2015.
