Congratulations Artists 2014

67 students in LA10-12 entered art work in the Junior Royal Adelaide Show Art Competition. All of the work was highly commended by one of the state's leading art experts from Uni SA. Jack Condous was amazed with the high standard of art work and recommended that students enter a state art competition next year.

Students focussed on developing their art skills by analysing famous art work and the art work of other students. They observed artists in action using digital media and they also studied different works of art from around the world.

They looked at the effects that different media had on the subject category that they entered into. Each student selected a category that they would like to enter - some of which included Still Life, Portraits, People in Action, Sea Monsters, Landscapes, Animals, Birds, Fantasy Creatures and Photography.

During the process our artists gave each other peer feedback and had time for self-evaluation in order to develop their best piece of art work. It is clear from the variety of work produced that students expressed themselves in a personal and unique way.

37 students were successful in winning a prize for their art work. Prize money and certificates will be distributed in an assembly later this term. All art work is on show in the Fisher Building on Open Night and we encourage parents to complete a feedback sheet which will be in the hallway outside LA10 on Open Night.
