Maths - Term 4

Maths in Fisher

In Maths, students continue to focus on understanding number - written and mental strategies for calculating + - x ÷ facts. Activities will also focus on extending skills, knowledge and understanding of measurement, fractions, chance, data, probability, geometric reasoning and spatial awareness with 2D and 3D shapes.

Business Savvy Students

Each week a class in Fisher will plan, budget, make, and sell food items to other students in Fisher. Students will be endeavouring to cover costs each week and any profit will go to charity.

World of Maths

Last Friday we did WORLD OF MATHS. We had 17 activities to complete. First we talked about how we would use maths in real life. We split into 3-4 people in a group. Then went off to any task we wanted to. One of the tasks we did required us to weigh frogs and if we correctly put them in order from lightest to heaviest we spelt the name FREDO. We stayed at the gym for half an hour then we went back to our classes. When we went back to class we checked our answers and made sure it was correct. We had a lot of fun problem solving.
