Congratulations to Glen Orrong Road on their Exceeding Result

Glen Orrong Road Kindergarten receives an exceeding result for high-quality education and care!

We are thrilled to announce we have received a rating of EXCEEDING the National Standard for Education and Care at Glen Orrong Road Kindergarten! We have consistently achieved this result for 10 years, demonstrating that high quality practices are genuinely embedded in all that we do. Congratulations to the Glen Orrong Rd Team (Educators and Leaders) on achieving a rating of EXCEEDING the National Standard for education and care, in all 7 areas!

The assessment involved the review of documentation, observation of interactions and an extensive discussion regarding practice. The assessor highlighted our commitment to high quality practices and meaningful relationships with children and families. Below are the highlights of the report.

“The service was located in the heart of Elsternwick and had developed strong connections with the local community which had been sustained for many years. The presence of children during regular outings was embraced by the local community. On the day of the visit children consistently expressed their excitement about attending the local primary school later in the day to begin the ‘buddy program’. This was an embedded part of the Kindergarten program which had been in place for the past ten years"

"The EYM ensured educators were provided with regular opportunities to build their professional confidence by keeping up-to-date with educational research and connecting with professional learning communities. The approved provider ensured professional development was readily available to all educators, including opportunities to attend early years conferences and participate in short courses. An evolving quality improvement plan was in place that was reviewed at each service meeting, which, along with the Service Improvement Plan (SIP) and individual performance development and reflection appraisals, drove ongoing quality improvement.”
