GSV Sport Leaders Breakfast

Alongside my friend and peer Elena Langridge, we had the privilege of attending a GSV Sport Leaders breakfast on behalf of Shelford. It took place at Lauriston Girls School on the 9th of February. We arrived and were photographed at the entrance before entering the dining area. We were allocated a table that integrated one member from each school and were given the opportunity to learn about each other's sport/s, academics and day-to-day passions. It was an entertaining experience as we were joined by three elite athletes, Cat Phillips, Georgia Griffith and Rowie Webster. Their stories were inspiring and engaging as they shared their journey, each beginning at a GSV school. Furthermore, the leaders provided an insight on how to balance academics with sport in year 12 and encouraged us to stay competitive.  - Molly Reiger (Sports Captain)

GSV Triathlon

After 4 weeks of 2 morning training sessions per week our GSV triathlon team has been selected. The 30 selected students can’t wait to represent Shelford and compete against the other GSV schools at Alton Beach on Sunday 26 February. I look forward to sharing photos and results in the next newsletter.

SYDSA Swimming

The Shelford Junior School Swimming team has been selected to compete in the SYDSA swimming carnival on Tuesday 21 February at MSAC. The swimming squad had been training hard on Friday mornings since the beginning of the term. The SYDSA swim carnival is always a great way to kick off the SYDSA competition for the year. I have no doubt we will have some fantastic team and individual results to share in the next newsletter.
