Parliament 2023

It’s my pleasure to formally announce the 2023 Year 3 – 6 and the Year 8 – 11 Parliamentarians. Year 7 elections will take place following the upcoming Year 7 Camp and I look forward to announcing the Year 7 Parliamentarians at a later date.

The Junior School members of Parliament will meet regularly with the Head of Junior School, Student Wellbeing and Development and the Year 12 – Junior School Captain. In the Senior School, Parliamentarians will work closely with the Student Voice Captain.

Student attendance

If your daughter is going to be absent from school please email absences@shelford.vic.edu.au including your daughter’s name, class and reason for absence. Please do not email Wellbeing Mentors or Class Teachers directly as given their other responsibilities, they will not always be able to respond to or forward the information in a timely manner.

Uniform

Senior School Academic Uniform

Students are mostly wearing the uniform very well and I thank parents for their support in this regard. Further to my January letter, I ask that you please ensure that your daughter only wears the permitted jewellery to school, paying particular attention to the number and types of earrings being worn. A maximum of two small, plain sleepers or studs may be worn in each earlobe. Please note, dangly earrings, nose rings and other piercings may not be worn with the school uniform.

Senior School Sport Uniform

In 2023, students in Year 7-12 may continue to wear their sport uniform to and from school on days when they have either Physical Education or Sport. Students are asked to ensure that the Sport uniform is worn correctly and that pieces from the academic and sport uniforms are not worn together.

Class representatives

Parents who are interested in acting in the role of Class Representative, from Prep/1 right through to Year 12, please let Emily Lee know on the email below.  This is an important community building role; parent reps distribute key information to families, organise a few informal social gatherings for parents and students and support the SPA to recruit volunteers for various activities throughout the year. Please send your interest in this role to elee@shelford.vic.edu.au
