PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

MS MICHELLE HAEUSLER - PRINCIPAL

Welcome to the 2023 school year to all our returning and new students and their families. I hope that the summer holidays have been a restful time for you all. I am aware that for some families there have been bereavements and our prayers are with you during this time of grief. I hope that those affected by the flood waters have been able to return to your homes and to some form of normalcy.

It was wonderful to see the students as they returned this week. Our new students are wearing the new uniform and look amazing. It is great to see that other students have also opted to wear the new uniform (or aspects of it) and this will be a continual change over the year. If your child needs new uniform items and you need support, please make contact with your relevant House Leader or Mandy McCallum, Director of Wellbeing.

I have already provided information on the new staff that have joined our school community this year.  Here they are, all excited to be with us.

I also congratulate Georgia Craig-Neal and Jem Sibley, who also achieved ATARS in the 90s. These students have worked extremely hard over Year 11 and 12 and are deserving of these wonderful results.

Congratulations also to the following students that achieved a study score result of 40 or more for a Unit 3 & 4 subject in 2022.  Achieving a score over 40 is very difficult and these students should be very proud of their efforts:

  • Georgia Craig-Neal x 2
  • Isabella Gilchrist
  • Charlotte Oliver
  • Jem Sibley
  • Charlotte Angus
  • Zoya Aslam
  • Rose Crowe
  • Emily Free
  • Lily Grey
  • Anellie Sabado

We have a number of community events coming up including the Annual Swimming Carnival on Thursday 16th February and the Beginning of Year Mass on Friday 17th February. All school days are important and all students are expected to attend every day. Please encourage your child to attend all events, as this is where we build community and our sense of belonging.

I look forward to a wonderful year of learning.
