Swimming Carnival 2023
St Edward’s Swimming Carnival was a fun-filled event for everyone able to attend. There a a completely different feel to it this year, with the majority of our competitors being non-swimmers. Everyone who participated gave 110%. Thank you to all those parents who were able to come and support our swimmers yesterday. There was a great community feel and our students displayed amazing St Edward's spirt.
Overall the day was a success with lots of happy faces and 20 of our students qualifying for the Diocesan Swimming Carnival being held in Gunnedah on Friday 24th Feburary. A huge thank you to all parent helpers and teachers for their continued support at carnivals such as this, without your support our carnivals would not be as successful as they are.

Basketball 2023
Thank you to the families who have shown interest in this season of basketball. Listed below are the teams that have been nominated from the Compass consent. By now you should have received an email with a team code. If your child is on a team listed below, and have not received an email from Tamworth Basketball, or you are interested in coaching your child's team, please email me nmcculloch@arm.catholic.edu.au
St Edward's basketball uniforms are available through the Qkr app.
Junior Winter Competitions will run from 22nd Feb to 15th June
Note: * All players must be registered before joining a team.
Fees are to be paid by players when they complete their “member to team” online form.
Comp Fees as follows – Junior Primary School Comp Fees $125
Active Kids Vouchers may be used to pay competition fees online.
Personal Registration Fees are Separate to Competition Fees

Athletics
St Edward's had a number of students compete in the Regional Athletics Carnival over the weekend. Congratulations to
Sienna Erich: 8th in 100m final, 8th in 400m final, 6th in 60m Hurdles final, 5th 200m final and 4th in Relay.
Isaac Heywood: 3rd in Shot Put, 5th in 70m final, 6th in 100m final and 3rd in 60m Hurdles final.
Ashton Jeffreys: 8th in High Jump, 7th in 100m final, 5th in 400m final and 8th in 200m final.
Pyper Lace: 4th in Shot Put, 7th in 70m final and 7th in Long Jump.
Emily O'Connell: 7th in High Jump, 9th in Discus, 8th in Javelin and 3rd in 400m final.
All five athletes smashed their PB's in their events.
This carnival is the step before State Athletics and attracts the best athletes from across one of the biggest regions. Congratulations to these five for competing over the weekend and showing great sportsmanship; doing everyone proud.

If your child is interested in playing OzTag and you haven't already registered, please do so at https://tamworthjuniors.oztag.com.au/ for all relevant information. All registrations are online and our 10yr old teams have codes allocated to them. Games will start on Wednesday 8th February and teams that have 8 players fully registered by Friday 3rd February will be in the draw.
Please use the following specific codes, then use the individual codes for the others. Tamworth OzTag have added a question in the individual nominations: 'what school is the child from', so that they can form St Eds teams if we have enough. Below are specific codes for the under 10s team. If you are in this age group and have already signed up individually, you will be added to this team.
