Thank you to the parents who were able to volunteer at the children’s Prayer & Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. Shrove Tuesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent which is a forty day journey towards Easter.
The Season of Lent is a gentle reminder for us too:
Pray as a family - for example praying the rosary on Tuesday mornings 8.40am at the church or attending your child’s Friday Class Mass or the whole school Family Mass on Sunday 5th Feb, 9.30am coming up.
Give-up something - for example not eating meat or sweets or dessert. Maybe fast from (i.e. switch off) social media and have family board game every Friday night during Lent.
Help Others - for example donate to the poor - Project Compassion, help the elderly or pray for someone who is sick, lonely or overburdened.
During the season of Lent we are inviting you to join with your child before school to pray one decade of the rosary (10 mins) over the next 6 Tuesdays. The Rosary will be led by the students. Each child who joins will be gifted a rosary bead pack to take home. The children's prayers can be offered for your special family intentions. Please come along to Holy Family Church each Tuesday @ 8.40am for six weeks during Lent and pray as a family.
