FAMILY PARISH MASS

At the end of Week 5 each term, St Aidan’s comes together for Family Mass at the Holy Family Church with morning tea to follow. This term we will come together on Sunday 5 March at 9:30 am. All families and friends are welcome in this celebration.

Students will be performing a small song to end the Mass.

SHROVE TUESDAY

St Aidan’s celebrated Shrove Tuesday with plenty of delicious pancakes. Pancakes are eaten on this day as they were seen as a special indulgence before the 40 days of fasting during Lent.

Thank you to all those parents who helped organise the pancake morning tea and a special thank you to all those families who donated to Project Compassion. So far we have over $130 to donate!

ASH WEDNESDAY

This week we also marked Ash Wednesday and the start of the Season of Lent. It was wonderful to see the entire Holy Family Church full with students, families and parishioners.

PROJECT COMPASSION

St Aidan’s will again be supporting the wonderful work of Caritas Australia through Project Compassion. Your generous support can help to change the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Join us this Lent to raise much-needed funds for people living in poverty. Together, we can make a difference now, and For All Future Generations.

For more information on Project Compassion, please see here.

St Aidan’s will be running two fundraising events throughout Lent. Details for these events will be shared with families in the coming weeks:

1. Purple Mufti Day

All students are invited to wear purple mufti on Wednesday 1 March and bring a gold coin donation.

2. Fish Finger Fun Day

All students are invited to order a fish finger lunch order on Wednesday 8 March to raise money for Project Compassion.

MINI VINNIES

All students in Years 6 are welcome to join St Aidan’s Mini Vinnies. Mini Vinnies empowers primary school students to become advocates within their school and local community by putting their values into action. They meet regularly to learn about social justice issues, develop leadership skills and engage with the wider St Vincent de Paul Society.

This term the Mini Vinnies students will be working to plan, support and lead the Project Compassion initiatives.

SACRAMENTAL PROGRAM 2023

St Aidan’s works closely with the Holy Family Parish to offer programs for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Sacrament of Eucharist and the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Students in Year 3 make their First Reconciliation and their First Holy Communion, and students in Year 6 make their Confirmation. All students will be prepared for the sacraments by their classroom teacher, however, they need to register with the parish by completing this Google Form. Thank you to those families that have already completed their registration. All students will be prepared for the sacraments by their classroom teacher, however, they need to register with the parish - through the above Google Form.

If you are unsure whether or not your child will be making any of these sacraments, please do not hesitate to email myself or the Holy Family priests. The parish contact details are: holyfamilymaroubra@outlook.com and 9349 1198.
