2023 has started very smoothly with Foundation students settling into school routines very quickly. 

THANK YOU to parents who are dropping their children at the school gate in the morning. This helps with settling the students into their learning more quickly in the morning, especially the younger students.

REMEMBER: School starts at 8.50am – staff are not on duty until 8.45am so students should not be at school before 8.45am unless they are going to the Breakfast Club.

BREAKFAST CLUB operates every day from 8.00am – 8.45am.

Already after only 2 weeks, there are a large number of students turning up LATE FOR SCHOOL – around 15 students every day with some of those being the same students over multiple days causing a lot of disruption to their own learning and the learning of others.  School starts at 8.50am – students should be walking into their learning spaces at 8.50am.  Parents are asked to put in place strategies to ensure that their children arrive at school on time ready to learn every day!   Things do go wrong and there may be a legitimate reason why a student is late but this should be rarely.  If it is happening frequently, it is a major problem which needs to be addressed.

Kindergarten children are also settling in very well with numbers increasing each day.   

• 4 year old children attend on Monday and Tuesday from 8.30am – 4.00pm
• 3 year old children attend on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00am – 2.00pm

REMINDER: Every student should be at school every day unless they are legitimately sick.

If your child is not attending school on any given day, parents are required to contact the school before 9.30am in the morning to avoid receiving an SMS message which costs the school a lot of money each day/week/month/year!

2023 ROYAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL APPEAL

Every year, Athol Road Primary School families support the Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal in a very practical way, through their financial donations.  In 2023 the school is once again supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal.  Please send your donation in a sealed envelope with your name to the office.
