What a wonderful night was had by all who had attended. It was lovely to see many our community come together and reconnect with each other and welcome all the new families to our beautiful school community.

POKEMON CARDS
If your child brings Pokemon cards to school, please remind your child that it is their responsibility to look after them. There is NO TRADING of cards allowed at school.
PASSPORT TO PLAY
Passport to Play is an interactive resource for children co-designed by local children to support their development and encourage play and creativity in their local neighbourhoods. The resource features a range of artworks and comments from local children across the municipality, including a Leadership Group of children aged between 5 and 11 who provided feedback and comments on what play means to them, who they like to do it with, why it's important and how they like to play in their neighbourhood.

YEAR 6 LEADERSHIP and CLASS CAPTAINS
On Wednesday 1st March the Semester 1 class captains and Year 6 leaders were presented with their badges. There were many smiling faces from the students and families. A very proud moment that will be one of many memories of their primary school years.

CLEAN UP SCHOOL DAY/AFTERNOON - Friday 3rd March
A great clean up job from all our students on Friday 3rd March. Each year level spent the afternoon collecting lost property, packing away sports equipment, cleaning up rubbish on the yards and corridors and sweeping up leaves.
A well deserved Zooper Dooper was enjoyed by everyone for all their hard work!!
COMBINED 3 SCHOOLS MASS & SPORT DAY
On Thursday 9th September we welcomed Corpus Christi, Kingsville and Annunciation, Brooklyn to our school. We celebrated by attending Mass together and then had a shared lunch of a sausage sizzle. KABOOM sports came in and ran a fun and energetic day filled with lots of activities that was enjoyed by students and staff. What a wonderful day it was - being able to connect with the schools in our parish
NAPLAN
NAPLAN begins on Wednesday 15th March for our Year 3 and Year 5 students. NAPLAN is now an online assessment except for the Year 3 Writing which is still delivered on paper.

BUNNINGS
Bunnings in West Footscray was a huge support for our school as we were setting up the Stephanie Alexander Garden Program. As a show of gratitude all students wrote a thank you card for all the help and time they took to get it up and going. FRIDAY 17th MARCH - ST PATRICK'S DAY
All students can come dressed in Green to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general.
PARENTS & FRIENDS UPDATE
On Wednesday 8th March, we held our second P&F Meeting. We welcomed a new president Dan (Jakub 5/6 B) to take up the role for 2023. As always, all parents are welcome to attend these meetings. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 26th APRIL at 6:30PM in the staffroom.
FITNESS FRIDAYS - Come dressed in your house colours
On Friday afternoons our sports captains will be organising sport activities for all the students. These activities will take place in their house colours so students are able to come dressed in their house colours on Fridays. If you have any questions, please contact your child's class teacher.
NO FOOD SHARING
The school has a policy of 'NO FOOD SHARING'
If you could remind your children of this rule, it would be greatly appreciated. There will also be reminders given to the class by their classroom teacher.
EASTER EGG DONATIONS
Any Easter Egg donations can be sent to the office. Please have your donations in by Wednesday, 29th March. Tickets go on sale from Monday, 20th March and the raffle will be drawn on the last day of term, Thursday, 6th April.
SCHOOL OPEN DAY - Saturday 25th March
We will be holding our School Open Day on Saturday 25th March from 12 - 3 pm. Please let any families you are aware of know about this date. The aim of the Open Day is to promote our school to the local community of Yarraville and to increase enrolments across all year levels, but especially for Prep. We will need volunteers to assist with packing the showbags, cooking the sausage sizzle, setting and packing up, running sports or craft activities and welcoming visitors. An Operoo form will be sent out in a couple of weeks for how to volunteer.
2024 ENROLMENTS
We have started taking enrolment for the 2024 school year. If you have a child that will begin Prep next year, please come and collect an enrolment from from the office. If you know of any families in the area that are looking at schools for next year, please let them know about the wonderful community of St Augustine's and the upcoming Open Day.

The Uniform shop is open Fridays 8:30 am - 9:00 am. All items are $5.00.
