Grade 2

In Grade 2, we have been talking about how special and unique we are in our classroom. In our classes we shared and talked about our likes, dislikes and favourite things as we got to know each other. This week we read "Elmer" by David McKee. In the book, Elmer the Elephant stands out and is different to the other elephants. The Grade 2's have created their own Elmer elephants and written an example of why they are unique.

Science

Digital Technology

The students have had a fantastic start to the year in Digital Technology.  Students ingrades 3 to 6 have been learning about a variety of online learning platforms including Google Classroom and Nearpod.  The grade 2 to 6 students have started Typing Tournament accounts to perfect their typing skills.    

Students in grades 5 and 6 have been learning about Google Maps and how to find different places and how to measure the circumference of a variety of buildings and the distance between buildings.  

The Foundation and Grade 1 students have been learning how to use the iPad safely to take photos and create a basic animation using simple body movements.  Also, they have been learning how to use a trackpad and improving their keyboard skills on the laptops.
