School Values

Thank you to all students and families who have been upholding our Karoo PS school values of Kindness, Personal Excellence and Tenacity. It is privilege to engage with so many members of our community who show these values to others everyday.  Our students have been reflecting on how the value of Kindness looks and sounds like in our school.

'Today, I had a classmate come and invite me to play at lunchtime and made me feel really welcome.  He showed kindness and helped make my day great' (Year 3 student)

'My teacher has the biggest smile to welcome me into school every morning and it makes me feel like I belonged and so happy.' She shows kindness everyday!' (Year 4 student)

I look forward to continuing to highlight our values each fortnight and to celebrate our we are showing these values in our school community.

Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR)

Karoo PS students take part in RRRR lessons each week with all year levels focusing on the same area.  Term 1 the focus is on Emotional Literacy and further information will come in the following newsletter regarding the contents of this topic.  This is to communicate the current learning taking place in the school and to support conversations with families at home.

Attendance

'Everyday Counts!'  Our aim to for every student to have a great day at school and to be present everyday.  However, a friendly reminder that if your child is unwell and needs to remain at home, please record their absence on Compass as soon as possible.

School Attendance Mottos

The count down is well and truly on to the voting for the attendance motto for Karoo Primary School.  The students and school community will be asked to vote on the following mottos which have been developed by the students.

School Attendance Mottos

* Come to school, be cool!

* Learning is great so don’t be late!

* Get to school, see your friends, learn and learn, the fun never ends!

* We’d love you to come, don’t miss the fun!

* Your Brain is a Muscle and School Makes It Strong

* Skip the late pass so you can ace your class.

Keep a look out for further information on how to vote and I look forward to the motto announced soon at the end of this term!

The Knox community has a number of information sessions coming up to support our community, which may be of interest.  Please see the flyers below for further information.

I hope that you all have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing you around the school!

Kind Regards,
