Upcoming Learning

During the next fortnight, students will be undertaking learning in following areas:

Reading	Week 6 and 7- We will be exploring a range of texts such as Milo's Birthday Surprise. Students will participate in a range of reading activities as part of our new Little Learners Love Literacy Program.
Writing	Week 6 and 7- Students will begin to explore narrative writing by using a picture or written prompts to complete the beginning, middle and end of a narrative writing piece.
Maths	Week 6 and 7 - Students will be exploring Place Value. They will be using a range of objects and tens frames to represent numbers in a variety of ways.
Inquiry	Week 6 and 7 - We will be exploring Australian Aboriginal communities and the roles that Aboriginal people have in their communities. Students will explore dreamtime stories and a range of traditional practises of Aboriginal people.
SEL	Week 6 and 7 - Students will be learning about why it is important to think before you speak and the responsibility they have to make everybody feel welcome in our school.

News and Reminders:

Please remember that your child needs a sun smart hat to be able to play outside.
Reader satchels need to be brought to school.
Library has begun. Please remember to return your books on your class's assigned library day.

Take home readers:

We have purchased hundreds of NEW decodable, take home books to support our work on increasing phonemic awareness and phonics in the junior years through Little Learners Love Literacy. These books are currently being covered and catalogued. As such, take home readers are still a couple of weeks away from starting. Stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, we encourage you to read to your child and enable opportunities for them to read for enjoyment.
