GEKA Brady Road

Building relationships and supporting charity

GEKA Brady Road Educators

Here at GEKA Brady Road Kindergarten in East Bentleigh, we have built some very strong relationships with our local primary and secondary schools by hosting students, visiting prep classes and establishing bonds with the teachers and current prep students, some of whom are past kindergarten children.

We are often out and about as a group, walking through and talking with neighbours, local and not so local residents and business owners in our community.

This is great exposure for our kindergarten, and allows us to showcase ourselves even beyond our own community.

Other ways we help our community is by encouraging our families to donate to charities we choose to support.

  • St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper
  • RSPCA- donations of blankets/food and toys for deserted, sick and homeless animals
  • Royal Melbourne Zoo- ‘They’re Calling on You’ campaign (donating old and unused mobile phones) to raise funds to protect the Eastern Lowland Gorillas of Africa
  • Australian WasteSavers Recycle Bin-toys/clothes/books and some household items for local and African communities.
  • This is an ongoing charity we support all year
  • Envision- plastic lids for Prosthetics, another charity we support all year
  • Woolworths Earn and Learn

Kindergarten is an extremely inclusive environment.

We embrace diversity and different cultures and have celebrated Holi, the Indian Festival of Colours and Chinese New Year.

This in itself is another beautiful way in which we support our ever changing community.
