Music Ensemble Video Recordings

This week it’s been our Euphonix vocal group’s turn to record their work in the Performing Arts Centre, after Beginner Band and Concert Band recorded last week.

String ensembles (Chamber Strings, String Group and Junior Strings) will be doing their bit on the morning of Friday 3 December.

We look forward to producing our 2022 Virtual concert and showing all of the school community the great work that has been taking place both at school and at home this year.

Cycle 6 Instrumental Music Assessments

All instrumental music students in years 7-11 will be completing their Cycle 6 assessments over the next 1-2 weeks. Most assessments will involve a selection of class works, ensemble works and technical work (scales and exercises). It's important if your practice has slipped a bit lately to be playing most days a week leading up to your assessment. Remember that even 5 minutes ‘efficient’ practice on a difficult section is very productive!

Orientation Day Performances for Beginner Band, Junior Strings

Orientation Day is on Tuesday 7 December, and we look forward to seeing the 2022 Year 7s here at EDSC.

In a special live performance opportunity, the Beginner Band (now 2022 Concert Band) and Junior Strings will be performing for the 2022 Year 7 students on the day. This event will show on Compass for all students involved.

School Instrument Returns

All students with a hired school instrument will need to return their instrument to their instrumental music teacher for stocktaking and maintenance after their Cycle 6 assessment.

Students who are performing at Orientation Day on 7 December can return their instruments immediately after those performances.
