We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have served at St. Mary’s.  

It is through their vision,  determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.

Remembrance Day Prayer.

Advent - a Time to prepare for the coming of Jesus.

What is Advent?

Advent is the name of the season in which Christians prepare for the celebration that commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas. The word Advent comes from the Latin phrase "Adventus Domini", meaning “arrival of the Lord.”

The Advent season varies in length and the start date changes every year. It begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day, which can fall between November 27th and December 3rd, and always ends on Christmas Eve.

Common customs during Advent include the decoration of the house with an Advent wreath and the keeping of an Advent calendar.

The first Sunday of Advent this year is Sunday, 28th November.

Celebration of the Sacraments, 2021.

The First Eucharist program will not be held this Friday due to Mrs.Hicks being involved in a meeting. The program will recommence on Friday, 19th November with the candidates beginning the third unit of work in preparation to receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist.
