SSV - Mr Jay Baker

Mary MacKillop College competed in the SSV Boys Football and Girls Netball. In total, we had 8 teams that went out and it was great to see the smiles on faces as students took on their friends from various schools in South Gippsland. The weather was icy but that didn’t stop our students committing to the challenge and building great team spirit along the way. Our Intermediate Boys Footballers won through to the next round after a tense battle with Bass Coast in the final game. Finn Donohue and Tom Vuillerman led the team with fierce determination and we wish the boys luck in the Gippsland Finals on Tuesday, May 30th. In addition, the Intermediate Girls Netball won through to the Gippsland Finals with a dominant display throughout the competition. Hopefully, they can keep up the good form in the next round on August 3rd.

A huge thank you to all staff who coached, umpired and assisted with organisation for the day it is much appreciated.

Year 8 Netball - Mrs. Cassie Raschle

On the 16th of May, 10 Year 8 girls braved the wet and windy weather to compete in SSV Netball at the Leongatha Netball Courts. They played a strong first game against Foster Secondary College which saw them victorious with a score of 22 to 1. Their second game against Bass Coast Dudley was a tough game with some fierce competition.

Unfortunately, we lost scoring 5 points against their 19, knocking us out of Grand Final contention. Overall, it was a great day out. The girls had a competitive spirit and gave it all they had.
