Education Week 🌟

This week Victorian schools celebrated Education Week.

This year’s theme was based around “Active Learning” with a focus on Move, Make and Motivate, which celebrated physical activity, hands-on learning, and student voice in education.

Verney Road School students participated in various activities to celebrate this year's theme.

  • Early Years classes chose to focus on "make". Some students made paper hens relating to the "Ten Happy Hens" book that classes have been reading. While other classes focused on “move” by engaging in songs performed by senior students.

  • Lower Middle Years students chose to focus on "move" by participating in physical activities led by Senior students.

  •  Upper Middle Year students chose to focus on the theme of "motivate". They were able to gain a better understanding of pathways and programs that are offered to Senior Years students which motivated and excited the students.

It was great to see Verney Road students engaging in the Education Week activities!

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) 🏆

We are incredibly proud to share Verney Road School has achieved the Bronze level of acknowledgement for implementing the essential features of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

Kelly Noonan, the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support Coach, came down to present the award today during Upper Middle Years Assembly.

This certificate has been signed by the Deputy Secretary, School Education Programs and Supports and our Area Executive Director.

A great acknowledgement of the hard work staff and students put into using our PBS school wide system!
