School Council Report

The Yard Redevelopment

We spent a lot of time discussing plans for the proposed yard development. This is the concreted area near the year three and four building that often floods in the rain. It is proposed that a significant portion our fundraising money go towards redeveloping it, not only for safety but for welcoming and connection to nature. It’s early days, but so far we have heard from students and parents, and staff will soon be invited to share their thoughts. The three key principles that we are working around are – Safe, Sustainable and Inclusive.

Not all funds are going towards the redevelopment. Some will be used for Indigenous programs and others for sustainability projects. Details will follow.

At the meeting, the School Council approved for the yard concept design to go ahead.

A Fair to Remember

The ‘Fair to Remember’ was a massive success with a lovely community and fun feel. Kids loved the rides and the activities, and parents enjoyed the connections they made on the day. We raised $64,000 – a huge amount, especially given we haven’t held a fair in the last four years! Congratulations to all involved. Paul thanked Natalie Henderson in his report.

The fair would not have happened without her.
