Principals' Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Since our last newsletter we have attended the NSW Catholic School Principal's State Conference in Wollongong. After the many challenges of the past few years the gathering was heralded as a time to focus on the new ways of thinking in education, reflect on how we educate and really explore the theme of 'New Hope, New Growth.'

One of our keynote speakers told us that hope is not a wish and growth does not happen only by itself. Hope and growth go hand in hand and we work with the people around us to make this happen. We educate our children for the present - for what our children need now to prepare them for their future, a future of hope!

Education is growth. We must know where we are going, we need a structure to make it happen and a culture to keep everything moving forward. We constantly see this in action at St Joseph’s. Everyday we celebrate student success and strive to challenge our students. All of us can be very proud of the work we do at our school in a safe, respectful environment where our students are learners and have the best opportunities for future growth.

Catholic Schools Week - 2023

Last week we celebrated Catholic Schools Week which is an opportunity for us to reflect upon and celebrate Catholic Schools and the commitment to every young person in our care. This year's theme is "Renew in Hope" which reflects our mission of providing a faith-filled future for our students. Many students at St Joseph's have benefitted and continue to thrive from the dedication and commitment from our wonderful staff at St Joseph's.

On Thursday we had the privilege to attend Mass at the Armidale Cathedral with our School Captains and other school representatives from across the Armidale Diocese. This event was a wonderful moment to celebrate and acknowledge Catholic education and the achievements of our twenty-four school communities. Here in our own school community many students have benefitted and continue to thrive from the dedication and commitment from our wonderful staff at St Joseph's.

May God bless you and your family,
