Wellbeing in the Corpus Christi Community
Year 1/2 Community
In Year 1/2 we have been exploring feelings and identifying them within ourselves and others.
We have looked at the traffic light system to help us identify how we are feeling when we are in the Red, Yellow or Green Zone. In our classes we came up with how we might feel in each of the traffic light coloured “zones”.
In the Red Zone, some emotions we might feel are angry, frustrated or negative. In the Yellow Zone, we may feel anxious, emotional or worried or even confused. In the Green zone, we may feel calm, happy and excited. We like being in the Green Zone but we might experience a range of zones in one day.
These traffic lights are located in our ‘Calm’ or ‘Cool Down’ corners and can help us identify how we are feeling and a ‘Calm Down Strategy’ we can use to feel better if we are in the Red Zone or Yellow Zone.
Some ways we can feel better is having a drink of water, taking some deep breaths or even relaxing in the calm corner for a while.
