Eucharist

Last Sunday on the 28th of May, Ben, Mia, Lucas, Harvey, Charlotte, Samuel, Erika, Ashton, Heidi and Indigo made their First Eucharist.

We congratulate these children on such a special milestone in their lives. The Sacrament took place at the St Martin de Porres Parish mass and was a great celebration.

The Church describes the Eucharist as the source of all Christian life. Without the Eucharist, it would be very difficult to live in the way Jesus teaches us.

Thank you to Fr John, the teachers, the students and their families for supporting in the preparation of this Sacrament.

Pentecost Sunday

Last Sunday, the 28th of May, was Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost marks the end of the Easter season for Christians and commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other early followers of Jesus. In the Christian tradition, this event represents the birth of the early church. At the first Pentecost, the early Christian Community came to life, they were no longer afraid, they no longer saw the need to live behind locked doors. The Spirit came into their hearts.

Feast of the Holy Trinity

This Sunday, 4th June, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Trinity.

Trinity Sunday is the first Sunday after Pentecost dedicated to honour the Holy Trinity – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We remember the Father as our Creator, the Son as our Saviour and the Holy Spirit as our Comforter. This day is an important day to us as our Parish is named the “Holy Trinity Catholic Parish”, uniting the three Mass centres of Laverton, Altona Meadows and Point Cook. Holy Trinity Parish incorporates the communities of St Martin de Porres, Queen of Peace, Lumen Christi, Stella Maris and St Mary of the Cross.
