Leadership Report

Dear Parents and Carers,
What a wonderful week it has been at Saltwater College. It is so rewarding to see students smiling and laughing during their recess and lunch breaks as they respectfully interact with one another whilst outside.
In a school, every working group (teachers or students) start off by creating an ' essential agreement'. In the classroom, this means that, rather than teachers imposing rules, everyone works collaboratively to establish an agreement on how the class will function.
Over the past four weeks, classrooms teachers along with the students have started creating Essential Agreements - (a class consensus that guides the behavioral expectations throughout the year). At best these are student-centered (and led) notions that are meaningful and real.
We will endeavour to send out a whole school document that contains each classroom 'Essential Agreement'.
Parking and Traffic issues
As the school continues to grow in numbers, we are aware of the many challenges that come with operating a big school such as ours and the community frustration around some of the tough decisions that we must make.
We are very passionate about starting a collaborative parent group to discuss ideas and long-term solutions to our ongoing parking and traffic issues. If you would like to be part of this parent representative group please contact Jackie Daniali at Jackie.Daniali@education.vic.gov.au
PLEASE NOTE: We are in constant contact with the department and our local council in regards to the school crossing situation. We have just been advised of the following position available.
Position Vacant: School Crossing Supervisor

If this is of interest please follow the instructions as per the advertisement to submit your application.
