Cadets

Sarah Byron

2022 saw the revamp of cadets with the Senior cadets training separately.  This has allowed them to complete further training prior to the cadet day with the Yr. 8 recruits. We look forward to challenging the seniors in both their leadership skills as well as their cadet skills, including navigation, radios, first aid, kayaking, archery etc.

Today ninety-three Yr. 8 recruits beginning their time in cadets are experiencing their first Cadet day. The leaders are very keen to pass on their knowledge and love of the cadet program.  Our leadership team, ADJT Ben Read and RSM Jasmine Young have been working hard on a training program in which the recruits will learn many new skills as well as encouraging them to challenge themselves.

Saturday morning, twenty-one senior leaders will head to Halls Gap to hone in on their leadership skills as well as further develop their team building skills. This camp is about the Platoon Commanders working with their platoon sergeants and section leaders to set out how they wish to lead their platoon as well as working within their rank structure on what makes a good leader.

All cadets received an envelope with the Cadet Camp information including both the bivouac and the May camp. Please ensure that you read the information carefully and return the permission forms by Wednesday 16th Feb. More information will be emailed out closer to each camp. If your child didn’t receive or has misplaced their paperwork, please ask them to collect from the front office.,
