SENIOR SCHOOL

With the current climate and the last two years of in and out of remote learning, there has been a shift in the wellbeing of our students. If we want them to succeed, our focus should remain on their wellbeing as a whole. Hence why, as a school we have been delivering daily curriculum and lesson plans, including PEP, around topics such as respectful relationships, consent and conflict resolution, with a key focus on aspects of Emotional Intelligence - self-awareness, self-regulation, resilience, motivation, empathy and social management.

With an understanding of their own wellbeing students can determine what steps to take to help themselves to progress. They need the language and the skills to be able to advocate for themselves, to be able to take care of themselves, and to be able to have empathy and compassion for other people as well.

In Senior School, the nurturing presence of Year Level Student Managers can help students to feel known as individuals to assist in student confidence. It is more likely, for students to ask questions in class, to seek help if they don't understand the concept. This is part of our culture here, equipping students with lifelong skills, such as confidence to learn.

We at BSC have embed wellbeing into the curriculum, and connect the work of the Year Level Student Managers and the Wellbeing team, along with PEP in the classroom.

The PEP framework curriculum from Years 7-12 assists in the support needed for student learning and for students to thrive.

I would also like to reiterate the importance of College pride and collaboration as a team – parents, staff and students working together to achieve the best support network for students, in upholding the school values such as respect and excellence.

One of the most important things is that we encourage and remain consistent about, is the kind of behaviours and expectations we would like our students to practice, including how they address peers and staff, how they approach their learning, how they represent themselves in the way that demonstrates – respect and excellence.

The school uniform should be worn proudly as it along with student behaviour encompasses the way students respect themselves and the school, greatly.

Please ensure your child’s uniform complies with school policy. Please support us on this and if there is anything we can assist with regarding uniform, please contact the respective Year level Student Managers for support or queries.

Behaviour, similarly encompasses the way they respect themselves and the school. How they also represent our school values. We take pride in our students for their maturity, resilience, empathy and efforts to do their personal best, and in doing so we encourage them to be leaders in high expectations for all, as role models, whether during school hours or other. We will continue to encourage our students to be leaders always and be kind and supportive to others.

We will be conducting Elevate seminars for our senior school students and will have a parent information evening shortly. These seminars range from time management, exam preparation and study skills. The Year 12 students will have their seminar next week during their Camp along with other activities to prepare them for their Year.

Please also feel free to access the webinars which are held fortnightly on Wednesday evenings.

Parents and guardians (of student's in 11&12) can go to

We hope your child has a wonderful 2022 and continue to take pride in themselves, their school and enjoy their learning journey.

Warmest wishes,
