Upper Junior

EEP

For the past few weeks room 1 has been learning all about transport. During learn to play the children have been pretending to be pirates sailing across the sea. Starting this week in learn to play the children have been becoming firefighters and learning how to report an emergency by dialing triple 000.  In room 2 during learn to play the children have been playing airports. The children have also been playing with an air rocket that shoots the foam rocket into the air, this has been a lot of fun. The children have also been creating and flying plane kites. They made these by attaching paper cutouts of kites onto string and flying them around the playground. In room 3 the children have been drawing Mat Man on the white board. The children also went to PMP going on the slide, climbing the steps, using the roller and climbing across the climbing frame. They had a great time. The children have also been making all different creations during developmental play. It is great to see what the children create during this time.

Lower Secondary

Students in Lower Secondary have been busy making resources for the therapy team as part of their work skills program.  They have made kinetic sand, rainbow rice and cloud dough.  These items will be used as part of the therapy team's sensory and self regulation programs.

Students have also been working hard to ensure our new chickens have a comfortable place to live.  They have been busy planting, weeding and watering the garden and building valuable skills in building relationships, following directions and gaining skills that will provide a pathway to work outside of Yarrabah.
