Senior School Update

Senior School Update

I hope all students had an enjoyable break and are feeling refreshed for the second half of the school year.

The careers evening was run at Lara Secondary College on Wednesday July 14. I would like to thank all of our presenters for giving the students insight into prospective careers. It is so engaging to hear from professionals in the industry. I would also like to thank Anna Kelly for a mountain of work into the thorough planning and organisation of the night.

I would also like to congratulate all of the senior students who were invited to receive honours. We are looking forward to celebrating these achievements at our year level assemblies this week.

As we enter another lockdown, I would like to include a quote that Mr Hassett sent to the year 12s. I hope it will serve as a motivation to use the lockdown period as an opportunity. An opportunity to maybe to start a new habit or action that will ultimately improve your skill set academically and/or your health and wellbeing.

"Strangely, life gets harder when you try to make it easy. Exercising might be hard, but never moving makes life harder. Uncomfortable conversations are hard, but avoiding every conflict is harder. Mastering your craft is hard, but having no skills is harder. Easy has a cost."
