STRIVE

Welcome back to Term 3. I do hope that may families managed to get away for a lovely break over the holidays despite border restrictions forcing some to change plans. The weather in Vic was lovely for us here and so much to enjoy and appreciate locally.

We have a full calendar this term and some major College events to look forward to. Please ensure that the calendar that is sent out at the start of each term is stuck on your fridge at home, or wherever you might out important dates to note.

Some things we will be looking forward to are:

· The GAT exam for students studying a Unit 3 and 4 subject is scheduled for July 29th and will be held at the College.

· The College production is on from September 1 to 3 – we look forward to sharing our interpretation of The Addams Family with you all!

· The Senior School Formal is on Thursday August 26th.

We look forward to enjoying these events with the community.

UNITE

It is very important that upon our return onsite, the College community are adhering to the COVID-safe measures that are in place to keep us all safe. We are now required again to wear masks at school. Please ensure that your child has a mask each day and is also wearing this on the bus if they take this mode of transport.

Visitors to the College, including parents, are also required to wear masks when visiting the College for meetings or to visit the Administration Office for any reason. If possible, limit visits to the College and make payments via phone or direct bank deposit.

RESPECT

We are focusing on students being in full uniform this term, so please support us with having your child in uniform items at all times when at school. We are also undertaking some work with students to explore a new option for a hooded jumper as the material and neck shape of the current version is not appealing to all students. Some groups of students will be examining some designs and giving us feedback before we present some options to the School Council soon.

FLOURISH

Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners of the recent Surf Coast Youth Awards. We are so proud of the work that so many young people that attend SCSC are engaging in for their community and much of this does flow back into the College community also. Being a voice for youth in this local area is something that we encourage all of the SCSC students to be part of. We also look forward to participating in the annual Surf Coat Shire Youth Survey which will commence in August and involve some focus groups to discuss issues youth are facing in our local area at a deeper level additional to the actual survey itself.

Congratulations to the Youth Awards nominees and winners of:
