Junior School

What fun it was last Thursday with a bit of snow to start the school day (well, at Wentworth Falls at least. At Springwood it was just cold!).

Healthy Harold and Taryn have also been to visit in the Life Education van to discuss important health, safety and wellbeing matters, and our Public Speaking Showcase was presented to an appreciative audience; a culmination of the determined focus in Stages 2 and 3 on the skills of public speaking and poetry recital. Last week many children enjoyed gathering together on a cold winter’s night in the nice warm hall for Movie Night and cross-campus excursions have continued right to the very end of term. What a busy time it has been indeed.

School Reports

Junior School Reports are in the final stage of production and will be published on the parent portal at the end of the first week of school holidays, Friday, 25th June. A member of the School’s administration team will email families once the reports are available for viewing. Should the reports prompt any questions you may have you are invited to request an interview with the teacher concerned by emailing Mrs Arrell (karrell@bmgs.nsw.edu.au) or Mrs Boros (eboros@bmgs.nsw.edu.au) who will then facilitate a meeting upon our return to school next term.

Term 3 events

This term many classes have enjoyed a range of excursions and activities and there is much to look forward to in Term 3 including a trip to Canberra for Stage 3, an athletics season for our Stage 2 and 3 children and the fun and festivities of Book Week. Be sure to keep an eye on the Dates for your diary so that you are up to speed with all that is happening.

Student achievement

Well done to Hunter Costigan (S3 Raspberries), Keeden Harrison (S3 Fuji Apples) and Tasman Harrison (S2 Cherries) who competed last Thursday at the Combined Independent Schools Cross Country Carnival representing our association, HICES. In a fantastic result, Keeden (pictured) finished 5th in his age group and will now go on to represent CIS at the State Championships with Tasman finishing 7th and standing by as 1st reserve for his age group. The State Championships are held on the first Friday of next term and we wish the boys the best of luck and look forward to hearing how they get on.

Holiday wishes

On behalf of all the staff at the Junior School across both our beautiful campuses, I wish you all a refreshing and rejuvenating break from school over the coming weeks, and look forward to seeing you again when school returns on Wednesday, July 14.
