Trivia Night – Save the Date!
GECPA presents our major fundraiser for 2023:
Trivia Night and Silent Auction
7pm - 10pm, Saturday 9 September
We are in the early planning stage for this fun, social event for the GEC community. Do you know a great M/C or compere? Let us know!
Many hands make light work. If you would like to get involved in some aspect of the Trivia Night - theme, decorations, prizes, suggestions - or by contacting your workplace and/or regular local businesses for donations - please contact gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au with ‘Trivia Night’ or ‘Silent Auction’ in the subject bar.
A volunteer ‘signup’ link will be created soon.
All proceeds of the event will support improvement projects for GEC.
Working Bees
It would be great to see some new faces at the working bees held once per month. GEC Parents/Carers do an amazing job volunteering to help maintain and enhance the school grounds through monthly clean ups, sweeping and gardening. April’s Working Bee cleaned the picnic tables under the oak tree and planted new red Kangaroo Paw. A huge thank you to these volunteers (including GEC parent Catherine McNaughton – see image).
The next 2 working bees are Sunday 21st May and Sunday 18th June, 3pm-5pm. You don’t need to bring any equipment, though you can if you wish. You just need to turn up, even if just for 1 hour – it all makes a difference.
Second Hand Uniform Stall
The GEC second hand uniform stall is kindly run by parent volunteers once per term, 3pm-4pm on a weekday. This is a valued service to the school community and a fundraising initiative for the school.
Donations of pre-loved uniforms, newly washed in resaleable condition are gratefully accepted. These can be dropped into the GEC office.
The sorting of uniforms and running of the stall is reliant on parent volunteers, so we would love to hear from you if you think you can help out. Please email gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au with ‘Uniform Stall’ in the subject bar.
GEC Neurodiverse Parents Support Group
Next catchup – Sunday 21st May, midday (12pm): Whyte Café 1122 Glenhuntly Road, Glen Huntly – meet in rear courtyard.
Parents with students who are neurodiverse meet in a local café on weekends bi-monthly and have a whatsapp group, to support our kids, the school in meeting their needs and each other. To find out more please call Alicia (0422566951) or Cathy (0412119807) or email gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au
