Year 10 Visual Arts: Figurative Cubism
The Year 10 Visual Arts class have been investigating the work of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque as they begin a new Cubism unit that incorporates the human figure. Our art room was temporarily transformed into a drawing studio where the students developed their observational drawing skills before progressively developing their sketches into more complex and abstract representations. The students will use these initial sketches to develop a large scale final composition using acrylic paint on canvas. The students really embraced the challenges of this drawing process and a special thank you goes to our class models, Margot and Devna.
Year 7 Art: Name In Perspective
Students were required to draw their first name using one-point perspective. Coloured pencils were used to tonally render the form. Gaining inspiration from examples of decorative patterns, students applied their own pattern to the front of the name.
